ELMIRA, N.Y. – Elmira College women's ice hockey goaltender Sara Sevcikova has been named the Empire 8 Goaltender of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday.

Sara Sevcikova has now improved to a 5-1-1 record on the year after helping lead the Soaring Eagles to a 2-0 record on the week and UCHC play against Utica. She was a force to be reckoned with between the pipes, recording six saves in Friday's match and 24 saves in Saturday's match for a total of 30 saves on the week.

Sevcikova leads the Soaring Eagles with 97 saves while only allowing five goals in eight games. She holds a 0.71 goals allowed average with a .951 save percentage so far this season.
