Timothy Crowley enters his sixth season as the head coach of the Elmira College women’s ice hockey program in 2021-22. He was promoted to the position permanently after serving as interim head coach during the 2016-17 season. Under Crowley's direction, the Soaring Eagles have won four consecutive United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) regular-season and tournament titles and qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships each season.

In his first year, Crowley led the Purple and Gold to an 18-6-4 record, a second-place finish in the ECAC West Tournament, and their fifth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. He then guided Elmira to the inaugural UCHC regular-season and tournament titles, and a runner-up finish in the NCAA title game in 2017-18. EC placed 10 student-athletes on the All-UCHC Teams, six to the UCHC All-Tournament Team, including the tournament MVP, and had two players - Sarah Hughson '18 and Kelcey Crawford '18 - collect All-America accolades at the year's end. That doesn't include the pair of CoSIDA Academic All-America awards won by Hughson and Ari Smith '18, or the prestigious NCAA Elite 90 Award given to Smith for having the highest GPA at the final site of the Division III women's ice hockey championships. Additionally, Hughson was crowned Elmira's Female Athlete of the Year leading the team with a career-high 49 points (28g-21a) as a senior.

Crowley continued EC's success in 2018-19. The Soaring Eagles claimed their second consecutive UCHC Championship and earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament, finishing the year with 24-3-1 overall record. Elmira dominated the end of the year awards from the UCHC, as Katie Granato '19 and Meg Lahey '19 were named Player and Defensive Player of the Year, respectively. Eight total skaters were named to the All-UCHC Teams, while rookie Eliza Beaudin '22 took home UCHC Tournament MVP honors. Granato shined off of the ice as well, earning a CoSIDA Academic All-America nod.

Crowley joined the women’s ice hockey team after spending four seasons as the assistant coach of the men’s program. In his four seasons with the men, Crowley helped guide the Soaring Eagles to the program’s 10th ECAC West Title and had one player receive ACHA All-American accolades. His main success was shown in EC’s expertise on the power-play. Crowley’s efforts working with the Elmira power-play paid off in the 2013-14 season, as it ranked fourth in the nation in power-play efficiency, scoring on 28-percent of its extra-man opportunities.

Crowley, a 2009 graduate of the College at Brockport, was a four-year member of the Golden Eagles men’s ice hockey team. He was a member of Brockport’s first playoff victory in school history. An assistant captain during his final year, Crowley was a SUNYAC All-Academic honoree. He also received the Bob Peterson Coaches Award as well as Brockport’s Seventh Man Award.

After graduation Crowley was hired as the assistant men’s ice hockey coach at SUNY Potsdam, where the team qualified for the SUNYAC postseason in both the 2009-10 and 2011-12 seasons. Crowley served as the primary recruiter for the program bringing in 23 recruits over a three-year period. During his time with the Bears, three players earned All-SUNYAC recognition and three members were named to the All-Rookie team.

Along with his coaching experience, Crowley leads by example off the ice, as he helped find the Bears Stick It to Cancer and Hockey Day in Potsdam charities. While at Potsdam he assisted in Bears Back to Basics free community hockey clinics that ran once a month.
