TAILGATING REGISTRATION
Elmira College in conjunction with the Athletics Department has announced a more structured tailgating policy to offer a quality game day experience that is family-friendly and safe for all fans. In order to do so, we require adherence by all parents, alumni, fans, and visiting teams to the tailgating policy. In addition to the expectations outlined in this policy, all Elmira College students remain responsible for adhering to all policies outlined in the student code of conduct.
General Tailgating Policies & Expectations:
- Tailgating is only allowed in designated areas, which are outlined on the Elmira College campus map. It is important that individuals and groups stay within the designated area with all food and beverages.
- Tailgating should not impede the flow of traffic.
- Groups should dispose of trash and leave the designated area free of any debris.
- Gas grills are permitted but must be elevated off the ground. No open flame or charcoal grills are permitted.
- All state and local laws, and college policies, are in effect during tailgating. It is prohibited for a person under 21 years of age to possess or consume alcohol. Anyone furnishing alcohol to minors may be subject to arrest by police and/or removal from the campus.
- Drinking games are prohibited.
- The sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
- Containers such as beer kegs and party balls are prohibited. Excessive quantities of alcohol will be subject to removal or confiscation.
- Alcoholic beverages are not permitted outside of the designated tailgating area.
- Any individuals or groups not following the policies or who are exhibiting disorderly/disruptive behavior may be asked to leave the campus. Students violating this or other code of conduct policies will be subject to the student conduct process.
