Athletics Media Policy
Elmira College Athletics welcomes members of the media, photographers, videographers, and content creators covering Soaring Eagles athletics.
All media attending or covering EC Athletics events are expected to follow Elmira College and Athletics policies, as well as venue-specific guidelines. Media access and credentials are required and granted at the discretion of the Elmira Athletics Sports Information Department and are subject to space and event limitations.
Those seeking media access must submit a Media Credential Request Form to the Elmira College Sports Information Office no later than 24 hours prior to an event. Credentials and access may vary by event.
Media Credentials
All outside media, photographers, videographers, and content creators must receive credentials and approval from the Elmira College Sports Information Office prior to attending an athletic event.
To request credentials, you must submit a Media Credential Request Form to the Sports Information Director. Attendance or previous approval does not guarantee access to future events. You must request no later than 24 hours in advance.
Credentials are event-specific and may include designated areas for media access based on the venue and event. Elmira Athletics reserves the right to limit or deny credentials, when necessary, due to space, safety, or event requirements.
MEDIA CREDENTIAL REQUEST FORM
Credentials are issued on an event-by-event basis and are subject to available space, event requirements, existing media agreements, and Elmira College policies. Once a request has been reviewed, the Sports Information Office will confirm approval and provide any event-specific instructions, including check-in information, designated media areas, and access limitations.
Photographers & Videographers
Credentialed photographers and videographers must remain in designated media areas and may not enter team benches, locker rooms, playing areas, or other restricted areas unless specifically permitted by Elmira Athletics staff.
Photographers and videographers must not interfere with competition, officials, student-athletes, coaches, or spectators. Movement around a venue should be limited during active competition, and equipment must not create a safety concern or obstruct spectators, staff, or participants.
All photography and video access is subject to applicable NCAA, conference, Elmira College, and venue-specific policies. In addition, Elmira College maintains several trademarks and owns all rights, title, and interest in its respective Marks. Nexus Licensing Group, LLC (Nexus) is the authorized licensing representative of Elmira College and represents the College in connection with the licensing, protection and enforcement of its name, logos, slogans, mascots, and other proprietary rights. Third-party vendors are subject to all licensing rules and restrictions.
Elmira Athletics reserves the right to adjust media locations or access based on the needs of a particular event. Tripods, monopods, large camera bags, or other equipment may be restricted based on the venue and available space. Flash photography and lighting equipment is prohibited during competition. Media are responsible for keeping their equipment secure and out of areas used by participants, officials, spectators, and event staff.

Campus Field
a. Sports: Men and Women’s Soccer, Field Hockey, Men and Women’s Lacrosse, Flag Football
Photographers and videographers must remain outside the playing surface and within designated media areas. Sideline access is limited to approved areas and may vary by sport. Media must not enter team benches, technical areas, or other restricted areas. Photographers should remain stationary during active play whenever possible and may not position themselves in areas that interfere with officials, players, coaches, or event operations.

a. Sports: Men and Women’s Volleyball, Men and Women’s Basketball, Men and Women’s Wrestling, Cheer, Dance
Media must remain in designated photography and media areas. Photographers and videographers may not enter the playing area, team benches, scorer's table, officials' areas, or other restricted areas unless specifically authorized. During active competition, media should minimize movement around the court and must not obstruct spectators, officials, student-athletes, or event staff.

Murray Athletic Center
a. Sports: Men and Women’s Ice Hockey
Photographers and videographers must remain in designated areas and may not enter the ice surface, team benches, penalty boxes, locker rooms, or other restricted areas unless specifically authorized. Media must follow all rink-specific safety requirements and may not obstruct walkways, entrances, exits, or areas designated for teams, officials, or event personnel.

Holding Point
a. Sports: Baseball and Softball
Photographers and videographers must remain in designated areas outside the field of play. Media may not enter the playing surface, dugouts, bullpens, team areas, or other restricted areas unless specifically authorized. Photographers must not position themselves along active baselines, or in any location that creates a safety concern or interferes with players, coaches, officials, or event operations.
Media Access & Interviews
All media interviews with Elmira College coaches and student-athletes must be coordinated through the Sports Information Office, unless previously arranged through the Elmira College Office of Communications & Marketing. Media members must not approach student-athletes or coaches during competition, practices, team meetings, or other team activities without prior approval.
Postgame interviews will be coordinated by the Sports Information Office and may take place in a designated interview area or other approved location. Media members should allow student-athletes and coaches to complete their postgame responsibilities before conducting interviews. Access to locker rooms, team areas, practices, and other restricted areas is not guaranteed and requires specific approval from Elmira Athletics.
Media members are expected to respect the privacy, safety, and time of student-athletes, coaches, and staff at all times. All media interviews with Elmira College coaches and student-athletes must be coordinated through and in the presence of the Sports Information Office unless previously agreed to in advance.
Game-Day Check-In
All credentialed media, photographers, and videographers must check in with Elmira Athletics Sports Information upon arrival at the event. Media credentials must be displayed at all times while inside designated media areas and are only valid for the event for which they were issued. Credentials are non-transferable and may not be shared with another individual. Upon check-in, media members will receive any event-specific instructions, including designated photography areas, media seating, interview locations, and facility access.
Media members are expected to follow all instructions from Elmira Athletics staff, event personnel, security, and game officials. Access may be restricted or revoked if a credentialed individual does not follow event policies or interferes with competition. Game-day check-in procedures and media access points may vary by facility. Specific instructions will be provided by the Sports Information Office prior to the event when applicable.
Broadcasting & Livestreaming
A media credential does not automatically grant broadcasting, livestreaming, or recording rights. Any organization or individual seeking to broadcast or livestream an event must contact the Sports Information Office prior to the event.
Broadcast and livestream access may be limited based on existing Elmira Athletics, conference, NCAA, or other applicable media rights agreements. NCAA championship events may be subject to separate NCAA broadcast and streaming policies.
Approved broadcasters must use designated broadcast locations and follow all venue and event guidelines. Equipment may not obstruct spectators, officials, teams, or event operations. Elmira Athletics reserves the right to limit or deny broadcast, livestream, or live audio access when necessary, due to existing rights agreements, space limitations, or event requirements.
Social Media / Content Creators
A media credential does not automatically permit an individual to create commercial, promotional, or sponsored content featuring Elmira College student-athletes, teams, or events.
Content creators must follow all venue, credential, photography, and media access policies and may only operate from designated areas. Content creation must not interfere with competition, event operations, student-athletes, coaches, officials, or spectators.
Any commercial use of student-athlete images or content, including sponsored or promotional content, must comply with applicable NCAA, conference, Elmira College, and name, image, and likeness (NIL) requirements. Elmira College maintains several trademarks and owns all rights, title, and interest in its respective Marks. Elmira Athletics reserves the right to limit or deny access based on the purpose of the coverage, available space, existing media relationships, or event requirements.
Student-Athlete Privacy
The safety of our student-athletes is a top priority. Photography and video are permitted only in approved areas and during approved portions of an event. Media may not photograph or record in locker rooms, athletic training areas, team meeting spaces, or other private or restricted areas.
Media members must not photograph or record medical evaluations, treatments, or other private interactions involving student-athletes without permission from Elmira Athletics. Elmira Athletics reserves the right to restrict photography, video, interviews, or other media access when necessary to protect student-athlete privacy, safety, or well-being.
