Mission Statement:
In support of the Elmira College mission, the athletics program complements the co-curricular experience by providing an environment in which the student-athlete can achieve academic success, cultivate and enhance physical, psychological and social growth and development. Athletics provides theory and practice beyond the classroom to graduate responsible global citizens and leaders prepared for a lifetime of careers and personal growth; outcomes include: skills in communicating, leadership, team work, critical thinking, quantitative reasoning and community service.

Alternate Transportation Form:
Frequently student-athletes express the desire or need to seek alternate transportation to an away contest or to return home or to another location with their parents or guardians or friends after an away contest. Elmira College insurance covers student-athletes only when traveling to and from a contest in College vehicles, therefore, when other transportation is taken, the responsibility of ensuring their safety lies with the transporter (parent-guardian, friend, athlete (if driving themselves)). Approval comes after filling out the
Alternate Transportation Form, which is to be emailed back to Collin Hetherington at chetherington@elmira.edu.
