Rochester, NY – Keith Bujak '15, Satchal Waters '16 and
Austin Mansell '16 each earned 2013 Empire 8 All-Conference Honorable Mention accolades as announced by the conference Thursday afternoon.
Bujak earned All-Conference Honorable Mention for his singles play this season. He posted an impressive 6-1 conference singles record and 7-2 overall singles record at the fourth and fifth spots. He picked up key wins against Ithaca, Nazareth, and St. John Fisher, while helping the team improve in Empire 8 play.
Bujak ranks fifth in EC Men's Tennis history for most singles' wins in a season and will be looked upon to continue his consistency next season.
The third doubles duo,
Waters and
Mansell, earned All-Conference Honorable Mention for their great work this season. The duo posted a 5-2 conference doubles record, while recording a 7-3 overall doubles record. They picked up huge wins against conference champions Stevens Institute of Technology, St. John Fisher and Alfred.
Waters ranks tied for first in EC Men's Tennis history for most doubles' wins in a season, while
Mansell ranks fourth for doubles' wins in a season. Both will look to step up and play bigger roles next season to help the team accomplish their goals.
The Men's Tennis Sportsman of the Year for EC is
Sam Pine '14. Empire 8 emphasizes that “Competing with Honor and Integrity” is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. Additionally he combined with
Bujak at the first doubles' spot posting a 5-5 overall record, while sporting a 4-3 overall singles record this season.
