Adrian, MI -- The No. 5 Elmira College women's ice hockey team begins its quest for a fourth national title this Saturday, March 12th, as the Soaring Eagles travel to face No. 2 Adrian College in the 2016 NCAA Division III Women's Ice Hockey Championships First Round. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Adrian's Arrington Ice Arena.
 
The cost is $8 per seat for fans who wish to attend Saturday's First Round game. Fans can place phone orders ahead of Saturday's contest by calling the Adrian Athletic Department, who will be accepting payment via major credit cards, at 517-265-5161, ext. 4210.
 
There will be no presale for standing-room, general admission tickets. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for seniors/students, and general admission tickets may be purchased on gameday only, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
 
Adrian (25-2-1) punched its ticket to this year's championships by winning the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Slaats Cup title, securing one of the field's five auto-bids. The Bulldogs are making their second NCAA Tournament appearance since 2011, following a program record-setting 25-win season.
 
The Soaring Eagles (21-4-1) clinched one of the three at-large bids to this year's tournament, after producing their fifth consecutive 20-win season. Elmira is making its fourth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament and the program's 12th overall. The Purple and Gold have three national championships to their name, winning titles in 2002, 2003, and 2013.
