Women's Ice Hockey to Host Inaugural UCHC Tournament at the MAC March 3-4

ELMIRA, N.Y. -- After finishing the inaugural United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) schedule unbeaten with a 15-0-1 record, the No. 3/3-ranked Elmira College women's ice hockey team has earned the right to host the 2018 UCHC Women's Ice Hockey Tournament semifinal round and championship game on March 3-4 at the Murray Athletic Center in Pine Valley, New York.

The Soaring Eagles (21-2-2), along with the second-seeded Herons of William Smith College (16-5-4, 11-2-3 UCHC), were awarded opening-round byes in the six-team postseason tournament and will await the winners of the two quarterfinal matchups on Saturday, February 24, and Sunday, February 25. The following weekend, the four remaining teams will congregate at the MAC for the semifinals, which will be held on Saturday, March 3. The UCHC Tournament Championship is scheduled for the following afternoon on Sunday, March 4.

On March 3 at 3:00 p.m., the top-seeded Soaring Eagles will face the lowest-remaining seed out of No. 3 Stevenson University (13-7-5, 10-3-3 UCHC), No. 4 Utica College (14-9-2, 9-5-2 UCHC), No. 5 Neumann University (12-10-2, 9-6-1 UCHC) and No. 6 Manhattanville College (9-13-3, 6-8-2 UCHC). William Smith will take on the highest-remaining seed that night at 7:00 p.m.

The two surviving teams will then meet head-to-head for the first-ever UCHC Tournament title on March 4 at 3:00 p.m.

Admission to the UCHC Final Four at the Murray Athletic Center will be $5.00 for the general public and $3.00 for students with ID; children under the age of 12 are free. Tickets will be sold in the MAC lobby beginning at 1:30 p.m. on each day of competition. Fans will also be able to purchase short-sleeve tournament t-shirts for $10.00 and long-sleeve shirts for $16.00 on site.
