Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College Women's Basketball team takes on Ithaca College at 6:00 p.m. tonight in Speidel Gymnasium. Here is everything you need to get ready for the contest.
Last Time Out: The Soaring Eagles fell to host Houghton College 55-54 Saturday afternoon. The Highlanders led by as many as 11 in the second half but EC cut the deficit to just one with 2:45 remaining. Houghton made two key free throws in the final 15 seconds to hold on for the win.
Where We Sit: The EC Women’s Basketball team enters tonight’s contest 5-9 overall and 1-3 in Empire 8 play. Elmira sits sixth in the conference standings a game behind Fisher for fifth place.
Who’s Hot: Kelsey Geisler ’15 paced the Soaring Eagles with 16 points against Houghton in just her second game played in more than a month, as she was out with an injury. The sophomore shot 5-for-10 from the field and 3-for-6 from long distance.
Scouting Ithaca: Ithaca enters tonight’s contest 12-1 overall, while sporting an unblemished 4-0 conference record after downing William Smith in non-conference action 63-38 Saturday afternoon. Five Bombers scored nine points or more in the contest. Kathryn Campbell ’14 leads Ithaca in scoring, averaging 13.1 points per game.
Looking Ahead: The Soaring Eagles travel to take on Utica Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Empire 8 action.
