Where We Sit: The Soaring Eagles (3-13 overall, 1-5 E8) are showing great progression as they have won three of their past six contests. EC beat the Highlanders 63-55 on the road on January 12th.
Who’s Hot: Derrick Vogel ’14 averaged 14.0 points, 4.5 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game last week in two games for Elmira. The junior finished with a career-high 19 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals in an 85-74 loss on the road at Utica. He hit on seven of his eight field goal attempts including going 4-for-5 from deep.
Scouting Houghton: The Highlanders are winless this season at 0-16. Chris Confair (12.4) and Mark O’Brien (10.6) lead Houghton as the only two scorers who average in double figures.
Looking Ahead: The Soaring Eagles will host Hartwick at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening in Empire 8 action in Speidel Gymnasium.
