Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College Men’s Basketball hosts Alfred University tonight in Speidel Gymnasium at 8:00 p.m. Below is everything needed to get ready for the action.
Last Time Out: The Elmira College Men’s Basketball team fell to visiting St. John Fisher, 59-51, on Athletics Alumni Weekend.
Where We Sit: The Soaring Eagles (5-15, 2-7 E8) currently sit in seventh place just one game back of Hartwick. EC sits just half a game ahead of Alfred (2-8 E8) and a win is vital to keep an outside shot at playoff hopes alive. Elmira has five conference contests remaining and all four after tonight’s game are against teams ahead of EC in the standings so the opportunity to make a late playoff push is definitely feasible.
Who’s Hot: Neil Randolph ’15 tied his career-high finishing with a game-high 18 points in the loss against Fisher. The sophomore shot 71 percent from the field and drained four of his six attempts from downtown.
Scouting Alfred: Alfred enters tonight’s contest 6-14 overall and 2-8 in conference play after downing Houghton, 89-67, on Saturday. The Saxons are led in scoring by senior Sean Curran (12.4 PPG) and junior Thomas Tsatsis (10.6 PPG).
Looking Ahead: The Soaring Eagles hit the road for a conference weekend as they take on Stevens Friday at 8:00 p.m. and Hartwick Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
