Pine Valley, NY -- The No. 1 nationally ranked Elmira College women's ice hockey team (23-1-1, 18-0-0 ECACW) used a three-goal effort in the first period to set the tone for today's game, as the Soaring Eagles cruised to 4-0 win against No. 9 Oswego State (18-6-1, 12-5-1 ECACW). With the win, Elmira's win streak reaches 14 games which is the longest active win streak in the nation.
Elmira's 18-0-0 conference record makes the Soaring Eagles the first team to post a perfect ECAC West Conference record in nine years and the first team in conference history to win 18 conference games since the league expanded past seven teams. Additionally, Elmira's perfect conference record is the second time the Soaring Eagles have conclude the regular season with an unblemished record, with the last occurrence dating back to the 2002-03 season, when the Purple and Gold won their second NCAA National Championship in program history.
With the win, Elmira also claims the ECAC West Conference regular season title, Elmira's first regular season crown since the 2008-09 season. As the regular season champs, EC earns the No. 1 seed and the right to host the 2014-15 ECAC West Conference Tournament.
Three different Elmira skaters logged multi-point games, including
Ashley Ryan '15,
Johanna Eidensten '17, and
Brooke Wilgosh '15, who all finished with two points apiece. Ryan's two points both came on goals, one of which was the game-winner, increasing her season point total to 56, which is tied for the fourth-highest point total in a single-season in EC program history.

Ashton Hogan '15.
It only took 14 seconds for the game's first goal to be scored as the nation's leading point scorer,
Ashley Ryan '15, put Elmira on top 1-0. Ryan's goal was scored on a one-on-one opportunity, as a pass from their own defensive zone by
Johanna Eidensten '17 found Ryan in the neutral zone, where she one-touched the puck past the last Oswego defender before scoring on a nice backhand shot. Eidensten and
Brooke Wilgosh '15 were credited with assists on the eventual game-winning goal.

Ashton Hogan '15 would poke the puck out from the crowd to Hughson, who was just outside the right side of the crease, who would quickly knock-in EC's second goal of the contest.
38 seconds later, Ryan scored her second goal of the evening to put the Purple and Gold ahead 3-0. Eidensten once against setup the goal as her shot from the point was redirected with a beautiful tip by Ryan in the slot, beating Oswego Goalie Bridget Smith for the score. Eidensten and

In the second period,
Cassidy Delainey '15 knocked-in her 21st goal of the season to put Elmira way out in front, 4-0. Delainey's goal looked much like her other 20 goals this season, as she worked the lower slot, knocking-in the goal from just outside the crease. Wilgosh and
McKenna Farole '16 were credited with assists as their passes setup Delainey's score.
Elmira would outshoot the Lakers 12-to-4 in the second period, but Delainey's goal would be the only score of the period and the last of the game as the Soaring Eagles skated to a 4-0 victory.
