POTSDAM, N.Y. --
An 18-save effort from senior goalkeeper Rachel Grampp '18 was not enough this afternoon, as the Elmira College women's soccer team fell in non-league action to SUNY Potsdam, 4-0. Grampp's 18 saves are the most made by an EC goalie in a single game since November 5, 2003, when former standout Christine Zalusky '04 turned away 18 shots against Ithaca College.

Potsdam finished today's contest with a 36-8 advantage in shots, as well as a 22-4 lead in shots on goal. The Bears also held a 7-3 lead in corner kick chances.

Grampp was tested early and often, as the Bears launched 24 first-half shots. The heavy dose of offense paid off for Potsdam in the 7th minute, when Amber Hyatt scored the game-opening, and eventual game-winning, goal on a header off of a feed from Rylie Murray. The Soaring Eagles turned up the pressure following the Hyatt goal with five shots in a 10-minute span. Two of EC's shots found their mark, but Potsdam goalie Delphine Leonard came up with stops, while the other three were blocked by Leonard's teammates.

Following that five-shot spurt for Elmira, Potsdam's defense held EC without an attempt for the final 26:40 and produced 20 of its own. The lopsided shot count paved the way for Brooke Falsion to double the Bears' lead in the 33rd minute with her team-leading eighth goal of the season. Olivia Seamans was credited with an assist on the tally, as Potsdam marched into the halftime break with a 2-0 lead.

The second half of play mimicked the first, as Potsdam's defense limited Elmira to just three shot attempts, while generating 12 of its own. Of those 12 shots, the Bears cashed in on two of them to solidify a four-goal win. Jaci Morr and Lexi Dean tallied goals for Potsdam in the 73rd and 87th minutes, respectively, while Falsion picked up an assist on the Morr goal, giving her three points on the day.
