ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The No. 1/1-ranked Elmira College Women's Ice Hockey team pushed its winning streak to 11-straight games on Friday evening, as the Soaring Eagles dispatched United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) foe Chatham University by a final score of 6-0 at the Murray Athletic Center.

Despite Elmira controlling the puck for the majority of the contest, Chatham's defense was able to fend off the Soaring Eagles early on. EC scored one goal in the first period before the Purple and Gold's offense came alive as the game progressed. Elmira sent 68 shots on frame over 60 minutes of play, compared to just five by the Cougars.

The Soaring Eagles had 10 skaters record at least one point against Chatham, highlighted by a four-point performance from Maddy Jerolman '19, who tallied two goals and added a pair of assists. Kristin Chivers '19 (3a), Meg Lahey '19 (2a) and Ariella Haas '22 (1g-1a) rounded out EC's double-digit point-getters.

Shannon Strawinski '19 (1g), Tristen Tolan '21 (1g), Emma Crocker '21 (1a), Jess Adams '21 (1a), Mary McCafferty '22 (1a) and Eliza Beaudin '22 (1g) all found their names on the scoresheet as Elmira cruised to the conference victory.

Elmira's lone goal in the opening period came off of the stick of Strawinski, as the Soaring Eagles scored on a delayed penalty chance. A pair of goals followed in the second period as Tolan tallied her sixth of the season and Jerolman cashed in on a power-play opportunity with four minutes left on the clock.

Jerolman added to her ledger to open the scoring in the third period, as the senior combined with Crocker and Chivers to pot her 11th goal of the season. Beaduin got in on the scoring act a mere six seconds later, as she received the face-off win from Jerolman and raced into the offensive zone before beating Chatham's Devon Strachan. Haas added a tip-in with six minutes left to play to seal the victory for the Purple and Gold.

In his own words…
Head Coach Tim Crowley on the team picking up another win in UCHC play…
"I thought that we worked through our puck issues today and we were able to finish some nice plays. Maddy and her line have been great for us offensively since we played Nazareth. It's always important for us to get conference points at home and we have a chance at another two points tomorrow."
