AURORA, N.Y. -- The Elmira College women's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference contest against Wells College on Tuesday evening, as the Express beat the Soaring Eagles by a 20-2 final score in Aurora, New York.

The hosts ran out to an early lead by depositing the first 10 goals of the game. The Soaring Eagles halted Wells' run at the 9:51 mark of the first half when Rachael Goetz '20 was awarded a free position attempt and buried the ball into the back of the net with a low shot. Goetz netted another free position opportunity less than five minutes later, which made the score 12-2 in favor of the Express at halftime.

In the second half, however, the EC offense was limited to just three shots. Although Ronnie Callahan '21 was given a free position attempt within the first two minutes of the period, her shot sailed wide of the cage. First-year attacker Mikayla Carfello '22 had two looks in the late moments of regulation, but Wells keeper Delaney Kendrick was there to deny Carfello on her first shot and the second was wide of the target.

In just her third collegiate start, Krystyna Lilland '21 logged four saves in goal for the Soaring Eagles. In relief of Lilland, second-year goalie Kacie Pierce '21 recorded four stops while playing 42:00 minutes off of the bench.
