KEY MOMENT:

From there, the Soaring Eagles would go on to score 12 unanswered runs, including a six run fourth inning, and a five run sixth inning. Sobel was able to keep the Wolves offense at ease, allowing just one hit over the final four innings of play.

Elmira would score the eventual game-winning run in the fourth inning after a pair of runs scored on a misplayed flyball off the bat of Brown-Bloom.

In game two, EC was able to force extra innings after Martin scored on a fielder's choice off the bat of Katie Distefano '24. With a runner starting the 10th inning at second base, the Wolves were able to plate the runner and a critical insurance run before working out of a jam to take the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Keuka got out to an early lead in game one scoring three runs in the top of the first without recording a hit against Elmira starting pitcher Jill Cortez '23. After a walk and an error, a sacrifice fly would score the games' first run before Cortez walked the bases loaded. From there, another Soaring Eagle error led to a pair of runs, giving the Wolves an early 3-0 lead. The visiting squad was able to pad its lead in the second inning after Mohl singled home Helena Hill to push the Keuka lead to 4-0.

Cortez' day ended after 2.0 innings on the mound in which she allowed four runs (two earned) on two hits, while walking four. Sobel would come on in relief and immediately keep the Keuka offense at bay.

The game changed momentum in the fourth as the Soaring Eagles would go to five runs with two outs, and eventually take the lead. After Sobel doubled to begin the frame, Alex Brockhuizen '22 singled with one out to put a pair of runners on the corners. Alexis Dinga '22 would bring home Elmira's first run of the inning after a sacrifice fly scored Sobel. With two away, Elmira would send six to the plate, with Felicity Brockhuizen '22 bringing home her sister on a triple to cut the Keuka lead to 4-2. It was Brockhuizen's third triple of her career.

From there, Wilcox and Martin each brought in runs to tie the game at 4-4 on singled to the left-side before Brown-Bloom brought home a pair after a misread flyball to right field, giving EC the lead for the first time at 6-4.
The Purple & Gold extended its lead to three runs in the fifth inning after Dinga singled home A. Brockhuizen with one away in the inning.

The final runs of the game came in the 6th inning, forcing the game to conclude. Elmira scored five runs on four hits, while taking advantage of a Keuka error. In the inning, Dinga, F. Brockhuizen, Bella DeAmelia '24, and Belmont all recorded RBIs.
Sobel finished the day allowing just one hit over four innings of work, picking up her fourth win on the season.

In game two, EC was able to score the opening run after Brown-Bloom singled home Martin to put the home team ahead 1-0 in the first inning. From there, the Wolves would score a run against Barr in the third (unearned) following a Soaring Eagle error to tie the game.

From there, the Wolves would strike again in the seventh after three consecutive wild pitches brought VanDelinder from first to home, putting Keuka ahead 2-1. Elmira was able to force extra innings after Martin scored on a fielder's choice off the bat of Katie Distefano '24. With a runner starting the 10th inning at second base, the Wolves were able to plate the runner and a critical insurance run before working out of a jam to take the win.
