ALFRED, NY. – Elmira men's soccer played its second of three consecutive road matches when the team traveled to Alfred State in its last non-conference game of the season. After going a goal down in the 33rd minute, the Soaring Eagles could not find the equalizer and conceded again with just over two minutes left in the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Elmira conceded its first just over half an hour into the match on Alfred State's third shot on target.
- EC went into the half trailing by one goal to nil.
- The Soaring Eagles got their first shot on target in the 60th minute when Daniel Mercedes '27 played a pass through the Pioneers defensive line to Mohamed Koroma '25, who got his shot off on the right-hand side of the penalty box. The attempt was put toward the top of the goal but was saved by the Alfred State goalkeeper.
- Elmira got its only other shot of the game three minutes later on an effort by Mercedes, which went wide right.
- Alfred State added another in the match's final minutes on a penalty kick, putting the Pioneers up 2-0.
- Asher Ellis '25 saved three shots in 81 minutes before being replaced by David White '27 for the remainder of the game.
