BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The Elmira College women's soccer team would battle the Golden Eagles from SUNY Brockport in the Quarterfinal Round of the Empire 8 Women's Soccer Championships on Saturday afternoon, but would come up just short in Brockport's 1-0 victory. After falling to the opposition 7-1 just under two weeks ago, Elmira would hold the No. 1 seed off the scoreboard in the first half despite being outshot 16-0, while a goal in the 71st minute of play from Jaylah Cossin would end up being the difference.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In goal for her second consecutive contest, Miranda Waterman '25 would be forced into five first half saves, while keeping a clean sheet through the first 45 minutes of play. Despite not finding the back of the net, the Golden Eagles held a favorable advantage on the offensive end, creating 16 shots in the opening frame while holding Elmira to none.
- Additionally, Brockport held a first half advantage in corner kicks (5-1), and were not called for a foul in the opening half.
- In the first 17 minutes of the second half, Brockport would produce eight shots, with just one ending up on goal. After a shot at the 70:21 mark was blocked, it would be Cossin who would begin and end the scoring for the contest with a goal. At the 78:11 mark, Elmira would produce its first and only shot of the contest off the foot of Tierney Krawczyk '27.
- In all, Brockport would outshoot Elmira 29-1, including an 8-1 advantage on net. Waterman would finish with seven saves, while Brockport also controlled the corner kicks battle 11-2.
