DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Elmira College Cheerleading team competed in its preliminary round of the Intermediate All-Girl Division III National Championship on Thursday, going up against 18 other programs including Alfred University and Fredonia State University. 

The Soaring Eagles were one of the final three programs to hit the Ocean Center Arena mat on Thursday and tallied a raw score of 79.8667 with a 0.75 deduction. The raw score, along with an event score of 87.99, placed Elmira 11^th of 19 programs.

The performance order for the final round of competition will be based on preliminary round scores in reverse order. Elmira is scheduled to compete on Friday at 5:50 P.M. from the Ocean Center Arena.

Elmira will see its Advanced Small Coed team take the stage at the Bandshell on Friday at 9:36 A.M. for a preliminary performance. The finals of the Advanced Small Coed Division III National Championship will be held on Saturday.

The Elmira College Dance Team will perform in the preliminary round of the Hip Hop Division III National Championship inside the Ocean Center Hall at 11:18 A.M. on Friday. The finals of the Hip Hop Division III National Championship will be held on Saturday.
