A former Empire 8 All-Conference selection and one of the most well-decorated outfielders in program history, Elmira College alumnae Maddy Johnson '19 returned to her alma mater as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2020 softball season.
Johnson concluded her EC career ranked first all-time in career batting average (.406) and on-base percentage (.450), second in stolen bases (35) and third in hits (121). She hit no lower than .342 in any of her four seasons donning the Purple and Gold, while starting all 94 games during her tenure. Johnson was thrice recognized by the E8 with all-conference accolades, including a first-team nod following her junior season.
A native of Rome, Pennsylvania, Johnson graduated from EC with a degree in Nursing in June of 2019.
