Neiram Galán-Canales '23 nearly guided the EC men's volleyball team to a victory over rival Nazareth on Wednesday, February 26, in a non-conference match against the Golden Flyers. Despite falling in the opening set, the Soaring Eagles came back to win the second set, 25-21, and a nail-biting fourth set, 30-28, before ultimately falling in the fifth, 15-9. The first-year setter posted a career-high 40 assists in that match, in addition to four digs and one ace.
Since taking over as EC's primary setter, Galán-Canales has amassed 94 assists and leads all Soaring Eagles with 7.23 assists per set.
The EC men's volleyball team returns to United Volleyball Conference (UVC) action on Friday, March 6, when the Soaring Eagles host No. 5-ranked Vassar at 7:00 p.m.
