Vaillancourt tallied two goals and one assist in the Elmira College Men’s Ice Hockey team’s 5-4 overtime loss to Neumann University in the ECAC West Semifinal. The fourth year forward assisted on the first score of the game at the 2:57 mark of the first period. Vaillancourt then scored a goal of his own 10 minutes later to give EC an early 2-0 lead. After a Knight goal late in the first period brought the deficit to one, Vaillancourt lit the lamp just 29 seconds into the second period, giving the Soaring Eagles a 3-1 lead.

EC extended its lead to 4-1 but couldn’t stop Neumann’s late comeback attempt as the Knights rattled off four straight scores to prevail in overtime. The Purple and Gold now wait to hear if they will receive an at-large bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament, when the NCAA releases its brackets March 4th.
