On the hardwood, Mykenzie Malacusky '23 turned in a banner week and led the women's basketball team to a sweep of Wells in a home-and-home series. In three total games, the sophomore guard averaged a team-high 15.0 points per game, tied for fifth in the Empire 8 Conference. Malacusky also ranks among the conference's most efficient shooters. She's tied for third in the E8 in 3-point percentage (53.8%) and sits fourth in free-throw percentage (85.7%).
In back-to-back games against the Express, Malacusky set new career scoring highs. She netted 19 points in Friday's 57-33 win at Wells, before leading EC to a 60-25 triumph with 22 points the following afternoon. During Saturday's game, the Dushore, Pennsylvania, native added season highs in steals (4) and assists (3), while shooting an impressive 8-of-11 (72.7%).
