Erik Griffin '16

Erik Griffin '16 joined the men's volleyball coaching staff for the 2016-17 academic year following one of the most decorated careers in EC history and is entering his second season in 2017-18.

During his four seasons with the Soaring Eagles from 2013-16, Griffin accumulated a program-record 1,539 kills while setting the career mark for kills per set with 3.71. He paced the Purple and Gold in those two categories in each of his final three seasons, and set single-season marks for kills (439) in 2015 and kills per set (4.26) in 2016. Griffin also graduated fourth all-time in aces (106), blocks (212), and digs (669).

As a result of his masterful on-court performances, the Victor, NY, native received a plethora of awards. He is the program's only two-time AVCA All-American, having picked up First-Team as a senior and Second-Team as a junior. In each of his four years with the Soaring Eagles, Griffin was earned UVC All-Conference honors, and he was named an ECAC All-Star in both 2015 and 2016. Lastly, following his final season at EC, he was given the prestigious Elmira College Male Athlete of the Year Award.

Griffin graduated from EC in 2016 with a double-major in Finance and Management. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in Management.
