Jessica Franklin

Franklin begins her first year as the head coach of the Soaring Eagles in the fall of 2019.

Franklin comes to Elmira following coaching stints at Division II Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina, as well as Division III institutions Morrisville State, Oberlin College and Oswego State.

During her tenure as an assistant coach with Limestone, she helped guide the Saints to a 14-4 overall record and a 9-1 mark inside the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas during the 2018 season. Her squad at Limestone went on to win the inaugural conference title, defeating Queens University of Charlotte, 3-2, in the championship game. Additionally, Franklin helped coach a trio of Limestone student-athletes to All-American status.

Prior to her time at Limestone, Franklin served as an assistant coach at Morrisville State during the 2017 season, Oberlin in 2016, and Oswego State for the 2015 and 2014 campaigns. Her time with all three programs was instrumental in developing a well-rounded coaching arsenal, as she oversaw nearly every aspect of coaching from recruiting to skill building.

Franklin also has coaching experience with the All-American Field Hockey Camps, one of the premier camps for up-and-coming field hockey players. During her stint with the All-American camp, she developed and implemented practice plans, as well as evaluate players during drills and competition.

Before becoming a seasoned coach in the collegiate ranks, Franklin was a four-year member of the Utica College field hockey team from 2010-13. The UC field hockey program saw substantial growth with Franklin on the roster, as the Pioneers posted a 51-29 four-year record that included back-to-back Empire 8 Conference titles in 2012 and 2013, as well as back-to-back NCAA Division III Sweet Sixteen appearances. During her senior year in 2013, Utica went 17-5, which at the time was the best season in program history.
