Rochester, NY -- The Elmira College women's lacrosse team had its three-game win streak snapped by No. 17 St. John Fisher College on Saturday by a final score of 19-2.
The nationally-ranked Cardinals opened the game with runs of 5-0 and 7-0, sandwiched around EC's lone first-half score, coming off of the stick of senior
Moorea Spoljaric '16 at the 17:01 mark.
Hayley Baker '19 netted the opening tally of the second half, making it a 12-2 Fisher advantage, but EC was held scoreless for the remaining 24:50.
Turning Point
The No.17-ranked Cardinals simply overwhelmed the Soaring Eagles all afternoon, en route to a perfect 5-0 start inside E8 play this season. Elmira was held to season lows in draw controls (5), shots (7), and ground balls (12). Meanwhile, Fisher won 18 draw controls and fired 39 shots, the most given up by EC to an opponent this season in both categories.
