KEUKA PARK, N.Y. --
The Elmira College women's lacrosse team fell in non-conference action today to Keuka College by a 22-11 final score at the Jephson Complex in Keuka Park, New York.

The Soaring Eagles were led by Danielle Goddard '20 and Hayley Baker '19 with three goals apiece. Today marked the first time in Goddard's young career that she has netted a hat-trick. Kyra McDonald '18 also finished the contest on three points with two goals and a pair of assists. In her first collegiate start, freshman goalie Kacie Pierce '21 made six saves in a complete-game effort.

Elmira started the contest off by taking its first lead of the season, 1-0, on a Baker tally just 1:22 into the contest. The Wolves answered by scoring seven of the next eight goals to storm ahead 7-2. A free-position tally by McDonald stemmed the tide until Keuka scored five more goals over the next few minutes to take a 12-3 advantage.

A Goddard score with 4:42 remaining in the opening half cut the margin to eight, 12-4. This is how the score would stay heading into the halftime break at the Jephson Complex.

Back-to-back goals from the Soaring Eagles in the first two minutes of the second half cut EC's deficit to six, 12-6. Baker found the back of the net first at the 28:28 mark on a free-position shot, before Kate Gibson '20 netted her first tally of the season with an assist from McDonald.

Following a Keuka score, Mae Dinh '19 answered with her first goal as a junior to restore Elmira's six-point hole, 13-7. Unfortunately for the Soaring Eagles, four straight tallies by Keuka gave the home team a double-digit lead, 17-7, that EC could not overcome. Back-to-back scores by Baker and Dinh drew Elmira within eight, 17-9, but the home team held on to take the contest by a 21-11 final score.
