ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Elmira College women's lacrosse team suffered a 24-1 setback at the hands of the Oswego State Lakers on Sunday afternoon at the nearby Ernie Davis Academy in Elmira, N.Y.
The visiting Lakers, who have scored no fewer than 15 goals in their first four games of the season, finished Sunday's non-conference bout with advantages in shots on goal (30-to-11), draw controls (18-to-9), and ground balls (14-to-5). Oswego State netted the first 11 goals of the game within the first 13:52 and pulled ahead 16-1 by the halftime break.
Elmira's lone goal was scored by second-year forward
Rachael Goetz '20. The Lake View, New York, native tickled the twine with a free position tally at the 12:50 mark of the first half for her third goal of the season. Goetz also won a trio of draw controls and collected one ground ball on the afternoon.
Oswego junior Teresa Shattuck led all point-getters with 11 on two goals and nine assists.
