ELMIRA, N.Y. -- A solid defensive effort in the first half by the Elmira College women's soccer team could not be replicated in the second stanza, as the Golden Flyers of Nazareth College scored five second-half goals en route to a 6-0 win at Campus Field on Saturday afternoon.

There was a wide gap in shots this afternoon, as the Golden Flyers outshot the Purple and Gold 36-2, including a 20-2 edge in shots on goal. Corner-kick chances were also in favor of the visitors, 10-0.

EC's starting goalkeeper, Gabe Carmona '19, made 14 saves in a full 90 minutes of action between the sticks. It was her third consecutive contest with double-digit saves, as well as the second-highest single-game save total of her senior campaign.

Five different players scored goals for the Golden Flyers this afternoon, beginning with Mary LoCicero's game-opening and game-winning strike in the 22nd minute. LoCicero's goal held up through the first half, as the Soaring Eagles entered halftime with a one-goal deficit.

Mallory Ott kick-started Nazareth's second-half surge by scoring back-to-back goals less than four minutes apart in the 50th and 54th minutes. Caleigh Cahoon made it a 4-0 Golden Flyer lead with a tally in the 58th minute.

Goals by Ashley Plane in the 69th minute and Kirsten Reese in the 74th minute rounded out today's scoring, as the Golden Flyers marched away with a six-goal victory.

Elmira's lone shots of the game were registered by Zoya Katta '21 and Taylor Hanson '21, both of which were on goal, but were snuffed out by Nazareth's Hannah Miller.
