PITTSTON, Pa. -- A total of 13 Soaring Eagle skaters produced points in this evening's United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) tilt, as the No. 4-ranked Elmira College women's ice hockey team cruised to a 9-0 road victory over King's College (Pa.). With the win, Elmira improved to 16-2-2 (11-1-0 UCHC), while King's dropped to 2-17-1 (1-12-0 UCHC).
Emma Crocker '21 and
Devyn Gilman '21 paced the Purple and Gold's offense with three points apiece. Crocker scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, and assisted on one other. Gilman, on the other hand, was credited with a trio of assists.
Crocker and Gilman were two of six multi-point producers, as
Bella Hanson '21,
Morgan Mordini '22,
Tristen Tolan '21, and
Claire Meeder '23 all finished with two points apiece.
Both of Meeder's points came on goals, while Hanson and Mordini logged one goal and one assist apiece. Tolan was credited with a pair of assists, rounding out EC's multi-point producers.

Holley Riva '23, who scored one goal each, as well as
Amanda Zenstein '22,
Ariella Haas '22,
Tiia Hertto '20 and
Mary McCafferty '22, who all logged one assist apiece.
Maggie Gilman '23 made her first collegiate start in net for the Elmira women. She finished with eight saves in 60 minutes of action to secure the first-ever shutout win of her career. Of her eight saves, four were registered in the first period.
Elmira opened the contest by scoring three first-period goals. Crocker began the scoring fest by tallying her 12th of the season just one minute into regulation. Mordini added another goal at 5:30 to double the Elmira lead before Riva produced a shorthanded goal at 7:40 to send the Soaring Eagles into the first intermission with a 3-0 lead.
The Elmira offense was awarded a pair of power-play chances in the second stanza but was unable to cash in on those opportunities. However, Meeder was able to make it a 4-0 Elmira lead with an even-strength tally at 15:54, which gave the Purple and Gold four-goal advantage heading into the final intermission.
In the third period, Elmira's offense erupted for five third-period goals to seal the win. Meeder kick-started the offense with a goal at 3:45. A little less than 10 minutes passed until EC's next goal, scored by Holt at 13:06.
From there, the Soaring Eagles scored a trio of goals in a 1:11 span to close out the game. Adams scored an unassisted goal at 18:28, which was followed by Crocker scoring her second of the game just 12 seconds later at 18:40. Hanson finished off the Monarchs by scoring her first goal of the 2019-20 campaign with only 21 seconds left on the clock.
