Elmira Suffers Setback to Stockton on Sunday Afternoon

ROCHESTER, N.Y.  – The Elmira College Men's Basketball team fell to the Ospreys of Stockton University in the consolation round of the Holiday Inn Downtown Rochester Tournament on Sunday afternoon, 77-39. The Soaring Eagles struggled to get things going in the opening half and found themselves down 40-14 at the half while converting on just 6-of-28 shots from the floor. Jeff Jung Jr. '23 paced the Soaring Eagles offensively, finishing the game with 10 points and seven rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED :
The Osprey jumped out to a quick 15-4 lead just six minutes into the contest and forced six Elmira turnovers in the first ten minutes of the game. From there, Stockton used a 22-7 run which extended their lead to 26 points with just 3:32 remaining in the half. Over the final minutes, EC would trade buckets with the Osprey and would go into the half trailing 40-14.

The Soaring Eagles would put together a more productive second half from the floor, scoring 25 points compared to 37 for Stockton. EC was able to use seven players off the bench in the game, combining for 78 minutes of play.

The Osprey took advantage of 23 Elmira turnovers by converting on 27 points off turnovers for the contest compared to nine for the Soaring Eagles.
