ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Elmira College men's soccer team fell to the visiting Knights of SUNY Geneseo, 6-1 on Friday afternoon at Campus Field. It was the first loss of the season for the Soaring Eagles. EC's lone goal came in the 72nd minute of play off the foot of
Horacio Vicioso '26, it was his first collegiate goal.
Martin Harguindey '26 assisted him on the play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Purple & Gold found themselves behind early when Geneseo was awarded a penalty kick just five minutes into play. Tyler Lewandoski would score the penalty and double the Knights' lead 30 minutes later on a goal assisted by teammate Matt Volz.
Shortly after halftime, Geneseo added to their total when Elmira misplayed a pass along the back line of defense, leaving Stefen Nikolic one on one with goalkeeper
Zachary Raffino '23. Nikolic slotted the ball into net and six minutes later assisted Liam Mulderig to give Geneseo a commanding 4-0 lead. Mulderig would score again in the 60th minute and Tyler Axelson grabbed an unassisted goal to put the Knights at six total.
In the 72nd minute, Vicisio denied Geneseo a clean sheet when he took a deep shot from around 20 yards out and it curled into the top right corner of goal. Harguindey won the ball right before and was able to quickly move the ball to Vicisio for the shot.
