JUST THE BASICS:
SCORE: Elmira 103, Bryant & Stratton (Roc) 81
LOCATION: Rochester, New York | Clark Gymnasium
TEAM RECORDS: Elmira (3-5, 0-1 E8), Bryant & Stratton (Roc) (2-6, 0-2 USCAA)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- A layup from Cardello just 14 seconds into the contest would be the last time the teams shared a tie, as Elmira would hold the lead for nearly the entirety of the contest.
- EC would begin the contest on an 8-0 run over the first four minutes of play, and would eventually grow its lead to 14 points just eight and a half minutes into the game following a made three-pointer from Spencer.
- Over the next five minutes, the Bobcats would use a 12-point advantage to trim the Soaring Eagle lead down to just a pair, but good play down the stretch sent the Purple & Gold to the locker room holding a 46-37 lead.
- In the opening half, EC would shoot 63.0% from the floor, as Cardello led the way with ten points.
- In the second, the Soaring Eagles would gain its largest advantage of the contest to that point, on a made fastbreak three-pointer from Cardello.
- With 11:57 remaining, the Soaring Eagles would find back-to-back baskets from Carter Seeberger '26, which would extend the Elmira lead into the twenties, a number they would not drop below for the remainder of the evening.
- Seeberger would finish the contest with ten points, while Marc Anthony Artuz '24 (14 points) and Owen Evans '26 (17 points) each finished in double-figure scoring.
- The Bobcats would finish the evening with just three turnovers, compared to 11 for the Soaring Eagles as B&S controlled the points-off-turnover battle, 18-7. Elmira would control the second-chance points battle (21-9), along with fast break points (26-14).
