Soaring Eagles Defeat PSU Wilkes-Barre 13-0 on Historical Evening Following Program's First No-Hitter

LEHMAN, PA. – Behind seven different pitchers who combined for 11 strikeouts and 13 hits on the offensive side of the ball, the Elmira College Baseball team was able to reach a historical program mark on Thursday afternoon, tossing the first no-hitter in program history.

The Soaring Eagles, who were two strikeouts shy of setting a new program record, received a pair of innings a piece from Jack Finnerty '23 and Jarek Podest '26 before receiving an inning a piece from Carter Wisely '25, Brennan Goin '26, Matthew Schultz '26, Justin Hyde '25, and capped it off with a perfect inning from fifth-year right-handed pitcher Kyle Tubbs '22.

Offensively, the score remained 3-0 in favor of the Soaring Eagles heading to the seventh inning before five runs per inning in both the seventh and ninth propelled EC to a double-digit victory. The offense was led by Chris Jones '25, who recorded his first career home run (3 RBI) and a two-run double from Ryan Trenholm '25 in the seventh frame.
