GENEVA, N.Y. – The Elmira College baseball program traveled to Hobart College on Wednesday for a non-conference doubleheader against the Statesmen as the Soaring Eagles dropped both ends of the twin bill by scores of 9-0 and 6-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
	- It would be Hobart that opened the scoring in game one as the Statesmen connected for a three-run home run to highlight a four-run bottom of the third inning.
- Elmira opened the top of the fourth inning with Gabe Fellows '25 reaching base after being hit by a pitch. The Statesmen would follow with a 6-4-3 double play before Erik Charnetski '24 delivered a double down the left-field line for EC.
- Sean Deaner '26 added a two-out single to left field in the top of the fifth inning for Elmira but would be stranded on base. Hobart added four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, including its second three-run home run.
- Fellows also notched a hit in the contest for the Soaring Eagles, while Jack Finnerty '23, Matthew Schultz '26, and Michael Millross '24 each recorded scoreless outings on the mound for EC.
- The Statesmen jumped onto the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning of game two with three runs crossing the plate against Elmira starter Kyle Tubbs '22. Hobart would also tally a pair of runs in the second inning to take a 5-0 lead.
- Elmira looked to put together a rally in the top of the fifth inning as Jacob Parker '25 beat out an infield single with two outs. Ryan Trenholm '25 followed with a walk to put a pair of runners on base before Hobart would get out of the frame with a strikeout.
- Charnetski delivered his second double of the day in the top of the sixth inning and would eventually come around to score following a passed ball and a wild pitch to trim the deficit to 5-1.
- Out of the bullpen for EC, Logan Pizzullo '25 worked a pair of scoreless innings and would be followed by a scoreless frame from Jarek Podest '26.
