Boyle Pots Two Goals to Lead Women’s Hockey Past Beacons on Friday, 5-2

PINE VALLEY, N.Y. – MK Boyle '26 netted a pair of goals to go along with one assist as the Elmira College women's hockey team recorded a 5-2 victory on Friday against the UMass Boston Beacons at the Murray Athletic Center in a New England Hockey Conference matchup.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Alayna Toole '26 would get the scoring started in the contest for the Soaring Eagles as she beat the goalkeeper at the 12:19 mark of the first period to make it 1-0. Mo McBride '27 and MK Boyle '26 added the assists on Elmira's first goal of the night.
  • Boyle doubled the advantage for the Soaring Eagles to 2-0 just a minute into the second period as she netted her first goal of the night off an assist from McKenzie Schmidt '25.
  • The second goal of the period would come off the stick of Anna Lugge '27 as she made it 3-0 at the 5:35 mark, with the goal being set up by Annie Audet '28.
  • Boyle added her second goal of the frame at the 13:35 mark to put the Purple & Gold up 4-0 as Schmidt and Audet recorded the assists.
  • The third period featured a trio of power-play goals as Elmira notched a goal with the extra skater at the 5:22 mark, with Erika Goleniak '25 finding the back of the net off an assist from Katie Manning '25.
  • The Beacons would get onto the scoreboard with a pair of power-play tallies as Erin Duffy netted both goals for UMass Boston at the 8:42 mark and then again at the 14:08 mark.
  • Sara Sevcikova '28 improved to 5-1-0 on the season for the Soaring Eagles as she finished with 13 saves. Veronika Hadamovsky suffered the loss for the Beacons after stopping 43 shots on the night.
