ELMIRA, N.Y. – Despite a strong offensive showing and multiple comeback efforts, the Elmira College field hockey team came up just short in a 4–3 loss to Keuka College on Wednesday evening at Campus Field. The Soaring Eagles fired off 19 shots and recorded 13 penalty corners in a tightly contested matchup, but the Wolves capitalized on key opportunities to edge out the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Keuka opened the scoring just over eight minutes into the first quarter before Elmira answered three minutes later when Caitlin Ehlenfield '27 converted off an assist from Madison Fleming '27 to knot the game at 1–1.
- After the Wolves regained the lead midway through the second quarter, Elmira responded again as Talia Nash '28 found the back of the cage with help from Ehlenfield to even the score at 2–2 before halftime.
- Both teams continued trading goals in a fast-paced third period. Tori Nelson gave Keuka the advantage at the 35:58 mark, but Elmira struck right back less than four minutes later on another Nash goal—once again assisted by Ehlenfield—to make it 3–3. The Wolves, however, reclaimed the lead for good in the 41st minute on a goal by Alexis McGregor.
- Ehlenfield led the Elmira offense with a goal and two assists, while Nash recorded her first collegiate multi-goal game. Fleming added three shots on goal, and goalkeeper Angelina Caban '25 made five saves in the cage.
- The Soaring Eagles dominated possession in the final frame, outshooting Keuka 8–1 and earning four corners, but Keuka goalkeeper Nijeylie Torres stood tall with 13 saves to secure the win for the Wolves.
