ELMIRA, N.Y. – After a strongly contested first quarter, the Elmira College field hockey team came up short in a 6-1 loss to Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon at Campus Field. The Soaring Eagles fired off nine shots and recorded five penalty corners, but the Redhawks capitalized and ran away on the offensive half of the pitch.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Roberts Wesleyan opened the scoring seven minutes into the first quarter before Elmira answered in the fourteenth minute courtesy of Nicole Luther '28 off the assist from Madison Fleming '27 to knot the game at 1-1.
- The Redhawks recaptured the lead before the end of the first quarter to secure the 2-1 advantage over the Soaring Eagles.
- Roberts Wesleyan jumped ahead of Elmira after netting two goals during the second period.
- A defensive led third quarter saw both teams without a goal, until the Redhawks netted two to secure the 6-1 victory over the Soaring Eagles.
- Luther led the Elmira offensive with a goal, while Fleming recorded an assist. Caitlin Ehlenfield '27 and Peyton DeMaio '28 each added a shot on goal apiece.
- Elmira goalkeeper Angelina Caban '28 recorded five saves, but Roberts Wesleyan stood tall with two saves to help secure the win for the Redhawks.
