Ehlenfield Scores in Season Finale Against Nazareth

ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College field hockey team closed its 2025 campaign on Wednesday afternoon at Campus Field, falling 8–1 to Nazareth University in a conference matchup. Forward Caitlin Ehlenfield '27 tallied Elmira's lone goal, while goalkeeper Angelina Caban '25 posted an impressive 14 saves in the cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Nazareth built a 4–0 lead by halftime behind a pair of early scores from Michaela Cushman and one each from MacKenzie Dixson and Isabel Porterfield. Despite the early deficit, the Soaring Eagles responded with strong defensive play in the second half, limiting Nazareth to one goal in the third quarter.

Elmira broke through in the 48th minute when Ehlenfield capitalized on a pass from Madison Fleming '27, putting the Soaring Eagles on the board. The goal marked Ehlenfield's team-leading tally of the season, while Fleming notched her sixth assist of the campaign.

Caban anchored Elmira's defensive effort with 14 saves against 27 Nazareth shots, including several key stops in the first quarter to keep the game within reach, while Annabelle Munz '28 recorded a defensive savs in the contest.

Ehlenfield led Elmira with four shots on goal, while Talia Nash '28 added three more attempts. The Soaring Eagles generated five penalty corners, including three in the final frame.
