ELMIRA, N.Y. – Elmira College Head men's basketball Coach
Denis Tobin announced his team's schedule for the 2025-26 season on Tuesday. Tobin's inaugural season at Elmira will see the Soaring Eagles host thirteen games inside Speidel Gymnasium, including a trio of three-game homestands.
On Friday, November 7, the Soaring Eagles will open the season in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, with a 7:45 PM tip-off against host Ursinus College in the Bear Bash Tip-off Tournament. The Soaring Eagles will conclude play in the Bear Bash Tournament the following day, Saturday, November 8, against either Marietta College or Misericordia University.
From there, Elmira will be inside Speidel Gymnasium on Thursday, November 13, for its home opener against Penn State Scranton at 7:00 PM. On Saturday, November 15, EC plays host to the Hawks from Hilbert College. The tip is set for 2:00 PM.
The following weekend begins with a 7:00 PM road game as EC will travel to SUNY Fredonia on Tuesday, November 18. Last November, the Soaring Eagles won 85-70 against SUNY Fredonia after
Tyler Cardello's '26 double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Elmira returns home to complete action before Thanksgiving by hosting Penn State Brandywine on Sunday, November 23, at 2:00 PM at Speidel Gymnasium.
Following the break, EC will close out the calendar year with three games in six days during the first week of December, beginning with a pair of home contests at Speidel Gymnasium at 6:00 PM. EC will host SUNY ESF on Monday, December 1, followed by Penn College on Friday, December 5. The Soaring Eagles' final December game will be on the road against Saint Elizabeth at 3:00 PM on the 6th.
A rigorous month of January has the Soaring Eagles play eleven times in 25 days. Returning from the holiday break, EC begins that stretch on the road at SUNY Brockport on Tuesday, January 6, before returning to Speidel Gymnasium for its first of two three-game homestands that begins with a matchup against Hartwick College on Friday, January 9. The Soaring Eagles then host Russell Sage College on Saturday, January 10, before closing out the home slate against SUNY Geneseo on Tuesday, January 13. Last January, EC rallied for a 92-85 second-half victory against the Golden Knights after shooting nearly 66% in the second half.
The team will then hit the road again for five games in eleven days, beginning with a Friday night showdown at Nazareth University on January 16. Following the conclusion of that game, EC will travel to St. John Fisher University for a matchup with the Cardinals. The following weekend's road swing begins with the Soaring Eagles heading to SUNY Poly on Friday, January 23, and ending at Utica College on Saturday, January 24. EC's longest road stretch of the season ends at Keuka on January 27. Around the same time last season, the Soaring Eagles rallied in the second half for a 73-71 victory over the Wolves.
EC closes out January with a pair of games at Speidel Gymnasium by hosting Alfred University on Friday, January 30, and Houghton University on Saturday, January 31.
The Soaring Eagles close out the regular season with five games in eleven days in February. The first pair of weekend games is on the road against Russell Sage on Friday, February 6, and Hartwick on Saturday, February 7.
EC wraps up the regular season with its final three-game homestand that begins against visiting St. John Fisher on Friday, February 13. The Soaring Eagles then host Nazareth on Saturday, February 14, followed by Keuka on Tuesday, February 17.
