Elmira, N.Y. – Elmira College Athletics is excited to partner with Pietro & Son's to honor the EC Team of the Month for the 2026-27 season. The field hockey team earns the inaugural honor after the success they have had in the month of September.

Field Hockey
In the month of September, field hockey has had one of their best starts since the 2019 season. The Soaring Eagles currently sit at a 3-5 overall record with a 2-1 Empire 8 record. EC picked up their first win of the season on the road at Cedar Crest College in overtime fashion. Nicole Luther found the net 2:27 into the overtime period to secure the 4-3 victory.

The Soaring Eagles continued their hot streak with an Empire 8 win over Keuka. This was the first time since 2011 that the field hockey program won their first conference game of the season. The 4-3 victory over Keuka was also the first time EC defeated the Wolves since 2019.

This past Saturday, field hockey picked up their second Empire 8 win over Utica in dramatic fashion. The Soaring Eagles defeated the Pioneers 2-1 to secure their first victory since 2012 against the Pioneers.
