Tommy Fogarty '20 | Baseball
A four-year starter for the baseball team, Tommy Fogarty '20 was a fixture in the top-half of Elmira's lineup during his career. Prior to the abrupt end to the 2020 campaign due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Fogarty was one of two players to have started all 14 contests and led all qualified hitters in batting average (.288), hits (15) and doubles (5). The Wayne, Pennsylvania, native registered eight RBIs with a .442 slugging percentage to round out his contributions at the plate. For his career, Fogarty, a three-time Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Division III Player to Watch selection, graduates fourth all-time in program history in hits (121), tied for third in RBIs (70), and ranks second in doubles (29). |

Ally DonVito '20 | Cheerleading
Ally DonVito '20, a senior member of the Elmira cheerleading team, was selected as the team's 2019-20 Booster Club Cheerleader of the Year. The Rotterdam, New York, native has been a steady performer for the Soaring Eagles since her debut with the Purple and Gold during the summer of 2016. During her four-year career, DonVito has helped the Elmira women collect nine first-place finishes, four Gold-Paid bids at NCA College Camp, a pair of fourth-place finishes at NCA College Nationals, and a third-place finish at the national event as well. |

Zach Hanner '20 | Esports
A senior member of the inaugural Elmira College esports team, Zach Hanner '20 was named as the team's 2019-20 EC Booster Club Player of the Year. Hanner competed on three teams for the Soaring Eagles – Fortnite, Rocket League, and Hearthstone. The Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, native helped secure a pair of victories for Elmira's Fortnite team in its shortened season and helped the Hearthstone team earn it's first-ever victory in a 3-1 win over Mansfield University. |

Janie Kempf '21 | Field Hockey
Since her arrival to EC, Janie Kempf ’21 has provided an offensive spark for the field hockey team and her junior year was no different. During the 2019 season, Kempf produced team and career highs in points (24) and goals (10), both of which tied for seventh place in EC single-season history. Kempf found her groove towards the tail-end of the season, as she closed out the campaign on a five-game point streak. Undoubtedly one of the most-lethal scorers in program history, Kempf ranks fourth all-time in career goals (24) and fifth in points (55). |

Shawn Backus '21 | Men's Basketball
A third-year leader for the men's basketball team, Shawn Backus '21 continued his transformation into the team's offensive focal point during the 2019-20 campaign. He paced the Soaring Eagles with 12.4 points per game and was second on the team with 4.0 rebounds per game. The rangy wing continued to augment his game for the Purple and Gold, as he totaled career-highs in assists (31) and blocks (12) to become a true two-way force for EC. Backus scored in double figures in 17 contests, highlighted by a 24-point point outing against E8 foe Houghton. |

Derek Countryman '23 | Men's Golf
Elmira’s representative on the 2019-20 Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year Team, Derek Countryman ’23 wrapped up his rookie season with Booster Club Player of the Year honors. He took part in six of EC’s seven tournaments this fall and registered an average score of 92.67. His best performance on the links came at the SUNY Cobleskill Jug Classic, where he shot a season-best 85 (+15) to help the Soaring Eagles clinch the tournament title. |

Matthew Cuce '20 | Men's Ice Hockey
Matthew Cuce '20 wrapped up his career on the ice for the Soaring Eagles in stellar fashion, as the two-time All-UCHC honoree capped his senior season with 30 points (16g-14a), his third consecutive season with 30 or more points. He was instrumental in the Elmira men earning the NCAA Statistical Championship for power-play percentage, as the Fort Myers, Florida, native supplied a team-high nine power-play goals, a mark that tied for sixth in the country. Cuce broke into Elmira's illustrious 100-point club in just the third game of the campaign and pieced together his best stretch of the season shortly thereafter, as he rattled off an eight-game point streak to guide EC to eight consecutive wins. |

James Mayer '20 | Men's Lacrosse
James Mayer '20 was outstanding for the EC men's lacrosse team prior to the abrupt end to the 2020 season. In just five games, Mayer produced nine points on seven goals and two assists. The senior once again acted as EC's faceoff specialist in addition to his two-way duties in the midfield and tallied a team-best 30 faceoff wins. He was crucial in EC piecing together three consecutive wins before the season was halted, the longest streak for the Purple and Gold since the 2012 season. |

Adam Nichols '20 | Men's Soccer
Adam Nichols ’20 was named the men’s soccer Booster Club Player of the Year after piecing together one of the finest seasons on the pitch in recent memory. A critical piece of Elmira’s attack, Nichols ended the season ranked third in the Empire 8 Conference in points (21) and goals (8), and was fourth in assists (5). His point and assist totals were the most by a Soaring Eagle in five years. Nichols’ impact on the team was undeniable, as the Purple and Gold went 6-2-2 in games in which he produced at least one point. After propelling the Soaring Eagles back to the Empire 8 Championships for the first time since 2015, Nichols was named to the Empire 8 All-Conference First Team. |

Alex Adelman '22 | Men's Volleyball
A fiery competitor for the men's volleyball team, Alex Adelman '22 was named the program's 2019-20 Booster Club Player of the Year. A libero/defensive specialist, Adelman ranked third on the team with 71 digs and posted a per-set average of 1.34. Against Randolph-Macon, the East Meadow, New York, native produced a career-high 26 digs. He was named to the 2020 Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year Team following the conclusion of the team's shortened season. |

Sarah Garner '20 | Softball
Sarah Garner '20, a senior on the Elmira softball team, was named the team's 2019-20 Booster Club Player of the Year. Despite not getting to take the field for her senior season, Garner pieced together an excellent career as a catcher and infield option for the Soaring Eagles. She amassed 56 hits, 22 RBIs, 12 walks and a .304 batting average over three seasons. Garner cemented herself in Elmira's starting nine, as she started in every game during her sophomore and junior seasons. |

Holly Landon '20 | Sports Medicine
Holly Landon '20 was crowned sports medicine department's Student Trainer of the Year for the 2019-20 academic year. A Nursing major, Landon has worked for sports med over the last four years and has come back each preseason to provide assistance before the start of classes. In addition to helping schedule game and practice coverage for her fellow student assistants, the Chester, Vermont, native worked directly alongside the soccer, men's ice hockey, and men's lacrosse programs. |

Lauren Franklin '20 | Women's Basketball
A senior captain and leader on and off the hardwood, Lauren Franklin '20 emerged as an all-around producer for the Soaring Eagles. She paced the women's basketball team in several statistical categories, including points per game (10.2), points (255), assists (57), field-goal percentage (38.9%), field goals (95), free throws (55), offensive rebounds (43), and steals (40). Franklin also produced single-game career highs with 22 points and six steals against Nazareth on February 8, in addition to posting a career-high four double-doubles throughout the season. |

Claire Preisch '21 | Women's Cross Country
Claire Preisch ’21 was named the EC women’s cross country Booster Club Runner of the Year for the second consecutive season. Named team captain prior to the season, Preisch paced the Purple and Gold in two of their eight races this fall and was consistently among the squad’s top finishers. She led the Soaring Eagles in their season opener at the Terry Rodenbeck Invitational with a 4K time of 18:21.6. She helped the Purple and Gold finish second at the Lancaster Bible Charger Invitational, where she completed the 6,000-meter race in 27:13.9, which was good for sixth place. |

Jess Adams '21 | Women's Ice Hockey
During a breakout season, Jess Adams '21 helped guide the women's ice hockey team to its third consecutive Pat Thompson Trophy, a 22-win season, and another trip to the NCAA Division III Championships. Adams eclipsed her career point total in 28 games as a junior with 28 points on 20 goals and eight assists, all of which were career highs for the Holliston, Massachusetts, native. In what eventually turned out to be Elmira's final game of the 2019-20 season, Adams had arguably the best performance of her career by scoring three goals in the UCHC Championship, an effort that spurred a 5-3 comeback win for the Soaring Eagles. For her efforts in the conference tournament, Adams was named the 2020 UCHC Tournament's Most Valuable Player. |

Rachael Goetz '20 | Women's Lacrosse
A consistent offensive threat for the Soaring Eagles during her four-year career, Rachael Goetz '20 was in the midst of arguably her finest season as a senior. In five contests, Goetz led the Purple and Gold in nearly every statistical category with 18 goals, 23 draw controls, 17 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers. Her goal output matched her total form the 2019 campaign and was just three shy of her career high. She had one of the best performances as a Soaring Eagle in Elmira's victory over the University of Dallas with career highs in points (8), goals (8), and draw controls (9). |

Taylor Hanson '21 | Women's Soccer
A speed merchant up front for the EC women’s soccer team, third-year forward Taylor Hanson ’21 once again showcased her offensive acumen for the Soaring Eagles this fall. Hanson led the team in points (7) for the second consecutive season and tied for the team lead in goals (3). Acting as a steadying hand for the Elmira women, she shined against conference competition, with two of her goals coming against E8 foes. A fixture in Elmira’s starting 11, Hanson was on the field for 1,230 minutes as a junior. |

Savannah Terry '21 | Women's Volleyball
Savannah Terry ’21 was instrumental in Elmira’s return to the Empire 8 Championships in 2019. She finished her breakout junior season with 180 kills, 69 digs, 61 blocks and 38 aces, and ranked among the top-10 in the Empire 8 in blocks per set. Terry’s development as an offensive option at the middle blocker position was also evidenced by her team-high .272 attack percentage. A true two-way force at the net, Terry registered double-digit kills on five occasions and posted four or more blocks in five matches. Her efforts were recognized by the Empire 8 Conference, as she was named to the E8 All-Conference Second Team and earned a spot on the 2019 E8 All-Tournament Team. |
