Tess Wicks begins her second season as the Elmira College assistant women’s basketball coach during the 2018-19 academic year.
Wicks joins the Soaring Eagles after finishing her playing career at nearby Division I Binghamton University. In her two seasons on the Bearcats, Wicks appeared in 33 games off the bench and the team made two consecutive America East Tournament appearances. In Wicks’s debut season, Binghamton added 10 wins to its record from the previous year and it reached the America East Tournament semifinals for the first time since 2012. The Bearcats posted their second straight double-digit victory season in Wicks’s senior campaign, which culminated in another America East quarterfinal appearance.
Before transferring to Binghamton, Wicks began her collegiate career at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. In the 2013-14 season, she appeared in 11 contests, which included four starts, and averaged 5.8 points per game.
Prior to her collegiate career, Wicks had a successful tenure at nearby Horseheads High School. Her list of impressive achievements included being named All-State in 2012, receiving Southern-Tier Athletic Conference (STAC) All-Conference accolades twice (2012-13) and winning a Section IV Championship as a senior.
Wicks graduated from Binghamton with a degree in Biological Sciences and is pursuing a graduate degree in General Management at Elmira.
