Maddie Evangelous '19 single-handedly outscored the opposing William Smith College offense, as the Soaring Eagles swept the home-and-home against the Herons by scores of 5-2 on Saturday, February 13th, and 7-1 on Sunday, February 14th. The first-year forward scored two goals with an assist for a career-high three points in each game.

The Hudson, MA, native began her weekend with EC's first two tallies in the first period of Saturday's victory. She found the back of the net only 1:18 into the contest after collecting a Maddy Jerolman '19 shot that pinged off of the right post and backhanding it past William Smith goalie Maggie Salmon. Evangelous poked in her second goal midway through the first period to double the EC lead. She also assisted on Elmira's third goal, scored by McKenna Farole '16 early in the second period.

In Sunday's road game in Geneva, NY, Evangelous scored twice on the power play. Once again, she netted the first goal of the game to give the Purple and Gold a lead they would never relinquish. After earning the primary assist on Jerolman's second-period tally, Evangelous extended the EC cushion to 5-1 with her second power-play goal.

On the season, Evangelous is third on the team with nine goals and fifth with 15 points. Those 15 points rank fifth in the ECAC West Conference in freshmen scoring.  Her six power-play goals are tied for fifth-most in the nation.

The No. 2/3-ranked Soaring Eagles finish the 2015-16 regular season against Oswego State on Friday, February 19th, at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 20th, at 3:00 p.m.
