Dore was very impressive as the Softball team went 5-1 this week and earned the two seed in the Empire 8 playoffs that included a pair of walk-off wins against Stevens and Ithaca. Her biggest moment came against Stevens in game two when she hit a two RBI walk-off triple to help Elmira sweep the Ducks 9-0 and 3-2. The reigning Empire 8 Rookie of the Year hit .360 in 25 at bats on the week finishing with two doubles, a triple and six RBI’s. Dore recorded a .520 slugging percentage and .385 on-base percentage.

In preparation for the conference tournament the Soaring Eagles will have three more doubleheaders this week. The first will be on Tuesday, April 23 at St. Lawrence University starting at 3 and 5 p.m. The second will take place on Thursday, April 25 at home against RPI starting at 3 and 5 p.m. The final game will take place on Saturday, April 27 at home against Houghton College starting at 1 and 3 p.m.
