Utica, NY -- EC Field Hockey lost their fifth Empire 8 contest this afternoon, 7-0, as they took on the Pioneers of Utica College. EC was unable to create any offense as they were out-shot by the Pioneers 33-1 as well as allowed 12 Utica penalty corners to their 2.
EC kept it close in the first half as they allowed only 2 goals in the half. The second half would be a different story as the Pioneers took over the contest by scoring 5 more goals. The contest would end with a final score of 7-0. Lauren Thomas '14 (Marshfield, MA -- Marshfield) got the start in goal today for Elmira. She made 15 saves in 42:00 minutes of action while fellow classmate Riannon Crocker '14 (Nashua, NH -- Nashua) made 4 saves in 28:00 minutes of action.
Elmira Field Hockey is scheduled to play Susquehanna University on Wednesday, October 27th at 4:30 p.m. in Selinsgrove, PA.
