Women’s Soccer Falls to Bengals

Elmira, NY The EC Women's Soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to the Bengals of Buffalo State.  Elmira was unable to find the back of the net as the Bengals played stingy defense all afternoon.

Elmira allowed an early goal at the 10:55 mark in the first half.  EC would eventually settle in to play some competitive soccer before allowing another goal late in the period.  The second goal would come on a penalty kick at the 40th minute.  EC would enter halftime trailing 2-0.

Elmira would open the second half with a brilliant kick-off play which gave them several scoring opportunities.  Unfortunately the Purple and Gold were unsuccessful in their attempts.  The Bengals would notch another score at the 76:25 mark in the second half, leading them to a 3-0 victory.  With the win Buffalo State improves to 11-5-2 while EC drops to 3-12-1.  Soaring Eagle goalkeeper Megan Lowe '13 (Leroy, NY -- Leroy) made 10 saves in today's contest including several one-on-one saves.

Elmira College Women's Soccer wraps-up their regular season on Saturday, October 30th as they host the Ducks of Stevens Tech.  Kick-off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
