Pine Valley, NY – The EC Women's Hockey team looked to earn their second win of the weekend as they hosted the Valiants of Manhattanville College this afternoon. The Soaring Eagles entered today's contest coming of a thrilling 4-3 win over the Valiants on Friday night.

Manhattanville got off to a hot start as they opened the game with a goal at the 3:05 mark in the first period. EC would re-focus after the goal to play aggressive hockey for the remainder of the period, out-shooting the Valiants 19-to-11. Elmira would fail to find the back of the net as Manhattanville would carry the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

In the second period Elmira would produce their first score of the contest just 1:06 into the period. First year standout Tori Charron '14 (Goodwood, ONT -- Aurora Panthers, PWHL) would register the EC goal as she stole the puck on a line change. Charron would carry the puck from EC's blue line and challenge the goalie one-on-one before beating the goalie to the right side of the goal for the shorthanded goal. Manhattanville would keep the pressure on the Elmira as they out-shot the Soaring Eagles 13-4 in the period. EC goalie Lauren Sullivan '13 (Toronto, ONT -- Markham-Stouffville Stars, PWHL) would be up to the challenge as she stopped all 13 shots. Both teams would enter the third period with the score all square at one a piece.

Elmira would control the third period as they would unleash 18 shots to Manhattanville's 3. Unfortunately for the Soaring Eagles, one of Manhattanville's three shots found the back of the net. This goal proved to be the deciding factor as EC would fall 2-1. Elmira goalie Sullivan would make 25 saves in the contest despite picking up her second loss of the season.

Elmira would be back in action on Friday November 19th as they host the Red Dragons from SUNY Cortland in an ECAC West showdown. Face-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Murray Athletics Center in Pine Valley, NY.
