Fredonia, NY – The Elmira College Women's Soccer team fell 4-0 to Fredonia State Tuesday evening in Fredonia. The loss drops the Soaring Eagles to 7-6, while the win improves the Blue Devils to 7-6.
Elmira got outshot 20-5 overall in the contest including 11-1 in shots on goal. Fredonia set the tone from the start as Melissa Cummiskey scored two goals in the first 11 minutes of the game. She would add a third in the 54th minute and the Blue Devils struck again at the 67 minute mark. The Purple and Gold starters combined for just two shots in the match.
Megan Lowe '13 (Leroy, NY -- Leroy) made seven stops in net for the Soaring Eagles while Meaghan Meszaros made one save for the Blue Devils. EC will look to rebound as they return to action on Saturday when they visit Nazareth College for an important conference battle at noon.
