Field Hockey Falls in Tough Fight 5-3 to Oswego State

Oswego, NY – The Elmira College Field Hockey team lost a tight game to host Oswego State 5-3 Tuesday afternoon in Oswego. The Soaring Eagles moved to 1-8 overall, while the Lakers improved to 4-8.

McKenna Light '14 (Marathon, NY – Marathon) finished with two goals, while Sarah Harden-Marshall '14 (Marathon, NY – Marathon) added another to lead the Purple and Gold attack. The Lakers started out strong, registering three goals in the first 15 minutes but EC kept up the intensity to stay in the game. Despite being outshot heavily, Elmira made their chances count, putting three of their 13 shots in the back of the net.

Lauren Thomas '14 (Marshfield, MA – Marshfield) held steady in net as she finished with an astounding 18 saves. Julie Janusz made five stops for the Lakers. EC returns to conference action this Saturday when they host Utica College at 1:00 p.m. for 'Senior Day.'
